Kristine Gibson Rodman, Head of School

Kristine Rodman

Born in Indianapolis to a father who grew up in Illinois and a mother from Indiana, Kristine is the youngest of three children. In 1989, Kristine began college at Ball State University to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. She also worked for ten years at Marsh Supermarket, most of which was spent as the Assistant Deli Manager.

From 1995 – 1999, Kristine lived in Ft. Lauderdale and was a teacher assistant for Pre-K 4 through 2nd grade at St. Mark’s Catholic School. In April 2005, she moved to Jacksonville and was the VPK teacher at Cambridge Prep School in Mandarin. In October 2006, Kristine was hired by TCS to develop and implement curriculum and train new hires in classroom management.

In June 2007, Kristine married Chris Rodman and assumed the Head of School position at TCS. In August 2008, Kristine and Chris welcomed their precious son, Gabriel, who attended TCS from 3 months of age through the VPK-4 Program. Gabriel is now in third grade at St. Paul’s Catholic School. In March 2012, they welcomed their second son, Greyson, who is now in the Pre-K4 Class at TCS. Kristine’s husband is in the Army National Guard and has been deployed for several tours. She understands the nature and demands of a military family.

Kristine is extremely close to her parents, siblings, nieces and extended family, most of who reside outside of Florida. She is extremely grateful to have TCS as a place of employment and to have had the opportunity to watch her children grow and learn each day.

Kristine has Advanced Director Credentials from the Florida Department of Children and Families. Kristine is a member of Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Riverside and her hobbies include camping, running and going to the beach.


Marlo Corey Hunt, Director

Marlo Hunt

Marlo was raised in Jacksonville and is a lifelong member of St. John’s Cathedral. The youngest of five children born to Jacksonville natives, Marlo graduated from Englewood High School in 1986. After completing an internship at FDLE and receiving a BS Degree in criminology from FSU in 1990, Marlo returned to Jacksonville.

Soon after, a part-time job became a four-year career in direct marketing at AT&T. In 1994, she joined Merrill Lynch, spending the next 7 ½-years working in mutual fund operations and shareholder communications. Marlo then spent a year at home with her newborn daughter Abigail.

In 2003, she began working part-time for several local attorneys and substitute teaching at Beaches Episcopal Day School. At this time, Marlo was asked to join a planning committee for a preschool in a recently purchased building by St. John’s. In February 2004, she assumed the Executive Administrator position of the newly formed St. John’s Cathedral School and Early Learning Center (TCS). Until the school opened in September 2004, Marlo was responsible for the building renovations, establishing accounts with vendors, providing tours and completing admissions for all new students. Marlo has since been designated Director of TCS.

Marlo was the nursery coordinator for St. John’s from 2005 to 2008 and 2012 to 2013. She has national certification as a Child Development Associate and advanced Director Credentials from the Florida Department of Children and Families. Her daughter Abigail is in the ninth grade at Douglas Anderson School of Art and dances competitively. She treasures her role in the ministry of TCS and the flexibility to participate in so many aspects of Abigail’s life. Marlo believes that our students are each uniquely made in God’s image: “God’s grace is so bountiful and I am blessed beyond measure.”


Stacy Apostol, Toddler Teacher

Stacy Apostol

Stacy Apostol was born in Pontiac, Michigan. She is the youngest of 6 children. She is married and blessed with 3 children, Joshua 17, Caitlynn, 12 and Ethan, 10. Stacy and her family love the summer and spend a lot of time at the beach. Stacy’s hobbies include pyrography, reading and traveling with her family.

Stacy was raised in Rochester, Mich., until the age of 12 when her family moved to Mio, Michigan. While living in Mio she lived on a farm and raised and loved horses. At the age of 17 Stacy started working in the nursing field as a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked as a CNA for 21 years in different aspects of the nursing profession. In 2015 Stacy came to work with The Cathedral School where she has mainly worked with toddlers.

She feels that working at TCS is the best career change she could have made. Stacy has her DFC training in child care, and is working to obtain her CDA to further her teaching education. She loves to work with, care for and teach children.

Stacy really enjoys working for TCS and the smiles that the children put on her face. She loves the fact every day is different with her toddlers and that there never is a dull moment at work.


Kelsi Callahan, Pre-K3 Teacher

Kelsi Callahan

Kelsi Callahan was born and raised in Jacksonville, Fla. Kelsi graduated from Frank H. Peterson Class of 2015. While in high school studying childcare she graduated with all of her credentials including 45 training hours, CPR certified and her CDA. She has been a teacher for 2½ years and has been at TCS for about 3 months.

Being a teacher runs in her family as her grandfather is a retired teacher, her grandmother is a retired guidance counselor and her mom currently is a teacher at Jacksonville Heights Elementary School.
Kelsi has one younger brother and four older brothers.

Her family has always been huge animal lovers; together they have 24 pets, including two bunnies, 10 cats, three dogs, and nine chickens. Kelsi can’t wait to continue adding to the family with many more pets to come.

Kelsi enjoys horses, going mudding, four-wheeling, shopping, spending time with her family, spending time with her boyfriend and his son and spending tons of time at the beach.
In the future Kelsi plans on going to college to become an Ob-Gyn and starting her own family.



Helen Edwards, Infant Teacher
I am a graduate of Florida State University with a BS in Special Education. I hold a teaching certifications in Georgia and Florida for Pre-K3 and Special Education K-12th grade.

I retired from the Duval Public School System in 2013, where I taught students with Disabilities for 41 years. I have been working at TCS since February of 2016. I have been married to my husband, Alan, for 43 years. We have three grown children, a son and two daughters, and five grandchildren. I enjoy traveling, spending time with my grandchildren and taking care of the precious babies at TCS.


Tenille Inman, Administrative Assistant

Tenille Inman

Tenille Inman was born in Woodbury, N.J. and raised in Washington, D.C. She attended St. Andrews Presbyterian College as a dual scholarship soccer and lacrosse athlete, graduating in 2008 with a BA in Elementary Education K-6.

She enjoys travel for leisure and learning abroad as she has visited over 12 countries and counting. As a lead kindergarten teacher for six years and mental health specialist for three years, she gradually understood the connection between community involvement, parental support, positive learning environments and the development of lifelong learners across vast socioeconomic statuses.

Tenille is the oldest of four brothers and two sisters. Her hobbies include reading, jogging, aerial fitness, cooking, and all creative endeavors that exude joy for life’s blessings big, small, known and unknown. She joined TCS in March of 2017 as Administrative Assistant and looks forward to building collaborative connections that foster child-centered lifelong learning


Michaela Robin, Floater

Hello, I’m Michaela Robin. I am a teacher here at TCS, certified in CPR and Standard First Aid.

I have been a youth teacher for over four years in both swimming activities and childcare. I have been employed at TCS for over a year and counting.

Born and raised in Jacksonville Fla., I am blessed to be a part of a large family of eight: Happily married mother and father, three sisters, two brothers and our puppy Peanut. After graduating from high school I have been furthering my education at Florida State College at Jacksonville. In my first year at this community college I have been working towards my AA degree majoring in bio-medicine.

My hobbies include a number of things however I spend most of free time involving myself in my church (Masses etc.), reading, writing, volunteering in the community and shopping. Though these are some of my favorite activities I love to try new things. In fact I hope to gain many new experiences in the future by visiting other states and countries. It is a big dream of mine to travel from my home, always to come back of course!


Shayla Johnson, Infant Teacher

Shayla Johnson

My name is Shayla Johnson and I was born in Jacksonville, Fla. I enjoy spending time with my family. I’ve been in childcare for over 11 years.

I graduated from a magnet school in 2006 where I took childcare classes. I have obtained the required 40 hours with the department of children and families. I have received my CDA ( Child Development Associate ) and I have also obtained my child-care director credential. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I first joined TCS in October 2006. After leaving in August 2013, I rejoined the staff in August 2016 and I absolutely love it here. I enjoy working with children and watching them grow. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, shopping and babysitting.


Silvana Koka, Toddler Teacher

Silvana Koka

Silvana was born in Berat, Albania, and is the youngest child in her family. Her brother lives in Greece and her parents still reside in Albania. She is married to Mr. Artur Kalemi and they have a son named Arbion, who currently attends TCS. Silvana moved to Jacksonville in January 2008. She joined TCS as the resident sexton in April of 2008 and as of the 2011/2012 school year, she became a toddler teacher.

Silvana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in French from the Aleksander Xhuvani University. Prior to coming to the United States, she taught high school French for two years. Silvana recently completed her Associate in Arts (AA) at FSCJ and this coming fall she will receive her Master’s Degree in Education from UNF. In her spare time, Silvana has tutored college students in the French language over at FSCJ.

Silvana feels blessed to be at TCS where she has always felt welcomed and part of the family. She believes in treating others the same way you would want to be treated. Silvana loves learning different languages and currently speaks Albanian, French, Italian and English.


Kallie Longley, Infant Teacher

Kallie Longley

My name is Kallie Longley. I was born and raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Englewood High School in 2011. While working full time out of high school, I was working on my AA degree at FSCJ and have completed 30 of my 40 hours of DCF training, with my final 10 hours almost complete.

I have been at TCS since February 2017 and have never enjoyed a job so much! I have a wonderful husband and a rescue dog at home and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with them and our friends, spoiling my 5-year-old and 1-year-old nieces, and traveling.


Amparo Dreyfus, Infant Teacher

Amparo is the fourth of seven children born in Popayan, Colombia. All her siblings and extended family still live in Colombia. She has lived in Jacksonville for over 20 years. Amparo has one son who, after receiving his GMBA, is currently working in Prague, Czech Republic.

Amparo has a degree in nursing from the University of Cauca in Colombia and a degree in cardiology nursing from the University of Autonoma in Mexico. She holds national certification as a Child Development Associate.

After spending many years as a registered nurse, Amparo moved to Jacksonville in 1990. While taking language courses at FCCJ, she began working with infants when our facility was Little Executives Child Care and then later Bright Horizons Child Care. After 11 years of infant care, she worked in cardiology at a local hospital for three years. In 2005, she was hired as an infant teacher at TCS.

Amparo loves to read, garden, travel and learn about other cultures. She likes the curriculum and Christian education at TCS. Amparo believes that with God, anything is possible.


Rhonda Spicer, Floater

Rhonda Spicer

Rhonda Spicer was born and raised in Jacksonville and has been blessed to work with children for the last 16 years. Prior to coming to TCS in the summer of 2010, Rhonda worked at Cambridge Prep School as an assistant teacher for six years. She feels working at TCS is one of the best career decisions she has made. She thoroughly enjoys decorating the classrooms, working with the children on their daily work and special projects and watching their growth through fun learning activities.

Rhonda loves working with the infants and transitioning toddlers. Rhonda and her childhood friend Micah have been together and married for 8 years. They have a 10-year-old daughter Hallie, who is in the 4th grade and loves math and art. They also have a 6-year-old son Haiden, who is now in kindergarten and loves to play video games and drawing.


Karen Rivers, Infant Teacher

Karen has four brothers and one sister. She is a caregiver to her elderly mother. Her father passed in 2002, but she knows that he is her angel in heaven. She has been with TCS intermittently since 2005 and has worked with the infants and toddlers during that time.

She loves watching the infants and toddlers smiling and enjoying the many toys they have to play with. She believes they are very special and a true blessing from God.

She enjoys cooking, reading her Bible and most of all caring for the “little ones”. Every Sunday Karen attends New Life Church in the Lord Jesus Christ. She is currently working on her National Childcare Associate Credentials.


Genevieve Chapman, Pre-K4 Teacher
Genevieve was born in Guyana and emigrated to the United States Virgin Islands in 2001. She is blessed with a wonderful husband and three beautiful daughters; Eugenia, Pennela and Cassandra. She lived in the Bahamas for twelve years and on St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, for another five years before moving to Jacksonville in 2007. She is an active member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church of which her husband, Rev. Hugh Chapman, is the rector.

Genevieve has national certification as a Child Development Associate and many years of experience in formal childcare at the Pre-K level in the Virgin Islands. She has also spent many years working in the nursery at her home church. She has been at TCS since 2007.

She believes that it is a privilege to teach and care for our little ones. Genevieve knows that by God’s grace she will give each child the love he or she deserves. She strives to give her very best effort in all endeavors and loves serving people, especially those considered underprivileged or disadvantaged.


Leany Pumarejo, Infant Teacher

My name is Leany Pumarejo and I was born in the Bronx, N.Y. and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and Jacksonville, Fla. I am the middle child of two brothers. I come from a large family who are caring and supportive of me.

I graduated in 2016 from Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology studying cosmetology. Although I do have love and interest for doing hair and makeup, I decided that working with children is best for me. That is why working with TCS makes it a fun experience. I plan on earning a degree in Pediatric Nursing and pursuing my dream of a having a wealthy family and a professional job.


Angel Robin, Floater

Hello I am Angel Robin, I have been an infant/toddler teacher at TCS since September 2013. I feel blessed and privileged to be a part of an awesome learning center.

I was born in Paterson, N.J.; however, Jacksonville has been my home since age 4. My wonderful husband and I are proud parents of six beautiful children; four girls and two boys. I currently have an Associate in Arts Degree. Soon I will be blessed and complete a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I love long laughs, listening to music, dancing, reading, learning new things and attending Sunday Masses.

My philosophy in life is GPS: Gratefulness, Prayer and Sharing.


Qiana Reid, Pre-K3 Teacher

Qiana Reid

Qiana Reid was born and raised in Jacksonville, Fla. She is the middle child between her two brothers. Qiana is the mother of one awesome son whom she loves and adores very much. She is very family-oriented.

Qiana has more than 10 years of experience in child care, working with all age groups, and has all DCF required training, along with being CPR certified, holding a National CDA and currently working on getting her Directors in Early Childhood. She also spent time at her last job assisting the Director in all administrative duties.

In her free time she loves to read, build with Lego’s, coloring, play all types of games and go shopping. Her favorite quote that she lives by each day is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, Philippians 4:13.


Taylor Doherty, Toddler Teacher

Taylor Doherty is a native of Jacksonville. Taylor spent years babysitting and even as a teenager knew she wanted to work with young children. She graduated from Englewood High School in 2011.

Taylor has been in the child-care field since graduating and has all DCF required training, along with being CPR certified.

Taylor has worked with all preschool ages and thoroughly enjoys her job. In November 2016 Taylor and her family adopted a little boy named Kooper. He is 3.


Angela Jackson Gray, Pre-K 2 Teacher

Angela Gray

Angela was born in Jacksonville but raised in Cuthbert, Ga. She is the middle child of three girls and after high school graduation, she moved back to Jacksonville.

Angela has worked in childcare since 1990. Her experience includes personal childcare in the home, church nurseries and Reedy Episcopal Child Care Center. She has national certification as a Child Development Associate. Angela was hired in the initial staff when TCS opened in August 2004. She served as the Toddler teacher until the 2009/2010 school year when she assumed a Pre-K2 teacher position.


Belinda Howell Huggins, Toddler Teacher

Belinda was born and raised in Jacksonville with her five siblings and parents, James and Gloria. She is extremely close to her family, including her seven nephews, three nieces, two great-nephews and one great-niece.

After graduating from Paxon High School in 1986, Belinda completed courses in Foundation for Success. She has worked in the childcare field with infants through five-year-olds for 24 years. Belinda has national certification as a Child Development Associate. She has been with TCS since January 2005. Belinda likes the atmosphere at TCS where she feels there is consistency in a safe, loving environment. She thinks TCS has improved with each passing year.

Belinda has been married to William for 15 years and they attend Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church. She loves to cook and bowl. A lot of prayer and making the best of every situation helps her get through each day.


Jasmine Lindsey, Pre-K4 Teacher

Jasmine Lindsey

Jasmine was born and raised in Jacksonville. She is the youngest sibling of one brother and two sisters and loves family more than anything else. Jasmine has a wonderful son, Jamari, who is 7 years old and in the second grade.

She started working in the nursery at St. John’s Cathedral in November of 2010 and became interested in the development of young children. Jasmine went on to complete all necessary training after high school graduation and began working in a VPK classroom at Christian preschool on Jacksonville’s Southside. She became quite fond of working with the prekindergarten students and was motivated to continue her studies and become a certified teacher to lead her own classroom. Upon completion of her continued studies she received her National Childcare Development Associate’s credential and became the lead teacher in her classroom and taught the VPK Program, for two years.

Jasmine joined TCS in May 2013, working in rising fours classroom during the summer. She then assumed being the pre-kindergarten instructor at TCS that fall. She thoroughly enjoys working with staff and wonderful children. She has now been with St. John’s Cathedral for over six years and is the nursery coordinator. She gives care and leads bible instruction with the little ones at our affiliated church. She continued her education at Florida State College and received her Associate in Arts Degree and is currently working towards a Bachelors Degree in Converged Communications.


Emily Mobley, Floater

Emily Mobley

Emily Mobley was born and raised in Jacksonville, Fla. She is a graduate of Englewood High School and is currently a senior at Jacksonville University. She graduated April 29, 2017 with a degree in Business Administration! She hopes to land a job with CSX Transportation where her father and other family members work.

Emily has been with TCS since February 2013 and she was a floater among the classrooms. Emily currently works in the front office as Ms. Marlo’s Administrative Assistant. She loves spending her days with the children. She also has all required DCF classes and loves to babysit for children of all ages.


Susan Aldrich, Infant Teacher

Susan Aldrich

Susan Aldrich was born in Miami, Fla., where her family stayed for a short time. Her father was in the military so she has lived in Hawaii, California and Virginia. He retired in Jacksonville in 1968 and she has been here ever since. Susan’s hobbies are gardening, walking the beach looking for shark teeth and anything unusual. She loves music and dancing.

Susan has been involved in child care for over 40 years. She received her National CDA certification in 2005 and renewed this credential in 2015. Susan has been married to her husband, Aaron for 28 years and has two step-grandsons who live in Maine and a daughter in Sarah who lives with them.

Susan loves working with all ages of children, but in recent years, has found her true passion is working with infants. Susan loves the curiosity and perseverance infants exhibit. It amazes her every time a child discovers their new skills. Susan’s lesson plans emphasize communication, reading, singing, and using Spanish and sign language. She loves to teach and to bring the love of discovery and comprehension to each child so that they will continue learning for a lifetime!


Jessica Brown, Toddler Teacher

Jessica Brown was born and raised in Jacksonville and is the second oldest child of four siblings. She and her siblings are very family-oriented and they love traveling, cruising, and socializing with one another.

Jessica is a senior at the University of North Florida studying for a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in political science. She also has all of her required DCF courses and First Aid/CPR completed.

She has previously worked as a nanny for United States Army program Nanny Can. She is a caring and conscientious teacher who assists children as they learn new experiences. Jessica is looking forward to building a positive relationship with both you and your child.


Madeline Alvarez, Toddler Teacher

Madeline Alvarez

Madeline Alvarez and her husband, Marco, have been married for 30 years. They have two adult children along with two lovely grandsons.

She has worked with children for 37 years. Her experience includes teaching Sunday school, working in a bilingual class as a teacher’s aide and working with a bilingual guidance counselor at a high school. In addition, she and her husband worked as pastors of a children’s ministry for 10 years.

Her favorite activities to do with the children are music and art. She also enjoys teaching the lesson in a fun and hands-on learning environment.

Madeline has been with TCS for two years and is thankful for the opportunity to grow and learn with the children!


Alisha Fields, Floater

Alisha Fields

Alisha was born in Milton, Fla., and raised in Vidalia, Georgia. Alisha was married in 2012 to her wonderful husband, Lamar, with whom she has spent 10 loving years. She and her husband are currently raising six kids together and couldn’t be happier.

Alisha loves working with children of all ages and has completed all the DCF requirements. In her spare time she loves to watch football and support her favorite team, the Georgia Bulldogs.


Erica Brown, Pre-K4 Teacher

Erica Brown

Erica Brown is a native of Jacksonville and currently attending the University of North Florida to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2012, she received her Associate’s Degree in Childcare Management.

She has been in the field of childcare for almost 10 years and has taught various age groups ranging from infants to school-aged children.

Erica is the oldest of four children and the proud mother of two active boys; Caiden, 6, and Gavin,4.

Erica feels a great sense of honor being responsible for laying a foundation to shape and develop young minds.


Jasmine Harris, Floater

Jasmine Harris


Jasmine Harris was born and raised in Jacksonville, Fla., and is the middle child of four siblings. In 2009, she graduated from First Coast High School and attended FSCJ to complete all the courses required by DCF.

She has a passion for teaching, loving, and caring for children. After growing up in a foster home, Jasmine has made it her goal to put a smile on every child’s face. She has been working at The Cathedral School since August 28, 2015 and loves every minute spent with the kids.


Madison Yontz, Toddler Teacher

My name is Madison Yontz. I was born in Atlanta, Ga., raised there until I was 11 then moved down to Jacksonville in December of 2008. I have an older half brother who is in the Marines.

I love to cook and bake at home and being with my family and friends. I always love to babysit when needed.

I graduated from Frank H. Peterson in 2016 from the culinary program. I have always had a love for kids but never imagined making a career out of it, but being at TCS has made that happen. I have been with TCS since November 2016, and have been working with the toddlers ever since. I am currently working on completing my DCF training.



Anice Brown, Sexton

Anice Brown

Anice Brown joined our staff as part-time sexton in January 2017. Sh helps keep The Cathedral School clean and tidy. She also works as full-time sexton for St. John’s Cathedral next door.
